Who: Open to All DoD Civilian and Military Personnel What: A Professional Development Course on SMART Standards When: 13 Mar 17 @0900 Where: Building 1900, / Room: NCOA Conference Room (Enter through NCO Academy doors, first hallway turn left, and conference room is located last door on the right) Why: DOD is launching its new standardized appraisal program DPMAP (Defense Performance Management and Appraisal Program). DPMAP is intended to provide a fair, credible, and transparent evaluation process that links bonuses and performance based actions to a civilians employee performance. The evaluation is based on three rating tiers: Outstanding, fully successful and unacceptable. This new civilian performance assessment process, DMAP, is asking supervisors to focus performance management outcomes by evaluating employee work habits based upon S.M.A.R.T. Standards (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound). These standards are written to measure employee performance. This training is for those who need introduction or review of how to write S.M.A.R.T. Standards to measure employee performance. It is beneficial because it helps the supervisor develop and motivate their employees by intertwining the overall goals and mission of the organization to the employees every day duties using S.M.A.R.T. Standards. Employees benefit from this feedback because it keeps the line communication open (continuous feedback) and provides a clear-cut roadmap on what is expected of them during the rating year.
