DPS Documents Submission - For US Citizens only
Driver License documents can now be submitted by the DFW Driving School on the DPS Portal. Once documents are approved, the applicant can pay $11 fee online and print their temporary Driver License and the card will be mailed in about 2 weeks. DPS appointment/Trip is not required. Confirm the Documents/Eligibility Requirements: For student age (16 - 24) - Completed Teens Drivers Ed 1. Age 16-24 and have completed the Texas Teens Driver Ed course. 2. Driver's Education completion Certificate (DE964 / PT964).The certificate must say "FOR DRIVERS LICENSE ONLY" at the top. 3. Must hold learner’s permit for 180 days. The exact date is on the back of your permit. 4. Complete ITTD Video: Impact Texas Teen Drivers 5. Completed 30 Hours Parent Driving Log. Click Here to print the 30 hours log. 6. Must be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian. For student Age 18 & up - Competed Adult 6 hours Course 1. Must have a valid Texas Learner’s License (A DPS Receipt for a permit, International License, other County/State Permit is NOT acceptable. You must have a Texas Learners License with your photo on it) 2. Must have an ADE-1317 certificate (Required only for age 18-24) 3. Must have an ITAD Certificate. Impact Texas Adult Drivers link. Certificate is valid for 90 days. Vehicle Requirements: 1. Auto Registration is Current 2. Certificate of Insurance, Paper or Digital. MUST show vehicle VIN number. 3. Licenses Plates on Front and Rear of Car. Temporary plates are acceptable. 4. Blinkers work front and rear - Brake lights work - Horn works Rental Car for the Driving Test: 1. The rental agreement must be in the name of the person taking a road test2. The rental agreement must include liability insurance coverage. US CITIZENS: DFW Driving School is now approved to submit your Road Test documents to DPS via Online Portal.
