2026 Special Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment will begin on Monday, May 4, 2026, and ends on Friday, May 22, 2026, for benefits effective July 1, 2026. During the enrollment period, if you have an exsiting medical plan or if you are new to Richmond Public Schools and enrolling for the first time, you will have the opportunity to review your medical plan and make changes as needed with a new, separate vision plan available. During the enrollment period you will have the opportunity to enroll in the new voluntary vision coverage. Those with existing medical coverage may also make changes to it should they wish, with changes to HSA coverage where applicable. Any other changes to benefits will take place during regular Open Enrollment in the fall, or as the result of a Qualifying Life Event. New hires or those newly eligible within their enrollment window may enroll in their benefits as normal.

We have partnered again with Employee Family Protection (EFP) to educate you on your insurance options and enroll you in those plans that best meet your needs for the upcoming plan year. An EFP benefits counselor will provide personal consultations to assist you with reviewing the insurance plan options and assisting in enrolling in the voluntary benefits offerings.

To utilize EFP's Benefit Service Center, which will be open Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), please call (844) 379-0069 at your scheduled appointment time, and a counselor will assist you.

To schedule an appointment:

Select a date on the calendar on the left.
Choose a time that is not grayed out on the right.
Complete the registration process.

Once you complete the registration process, an e-mail confirmation will be sent to you. If you do not receive an e-mail within 24 hours, the process is incomplete, and you will need to try again.
