Returning teens will push their flameworking skills and jewelry design to the next level. Students will delve into techniques such as making and mixing frits, surface imagery on beads and writing with stringers, using silver and copper leaf, blowing and applying shards, and creating twisted canes. Students will practice more blown techniques, working towards small vessels and perfume bottles. Demonstrations will alternate with working time. Students will be encouraged to do research at home about other flameworking artists and techniques that inform their ideas. Their artistic development will be embodied in their final pieces, which will be reviewed by their teacher and a guest critic, at the end of the course. 12 weeks, Tuesdays from 4:15pm-6:15pm
