What should I wear for my yearbook picture?

Your yearbook outfit should follow your school's dress code. Girls should have their shoulders covered and nothing low cut. No tank tops or spaghetti straps. Boys should wear a collared shirt, no t-shirts. Most schools like a shirt, tie and jacket to make a more formal look for the yearbook. Please check with your school for their yearbook requirements. In most cases we photograph the yearbook outfit first so wear that outfit when you come to the studio.

What should I bring and/or wear for my personal outfits?

  • Casual and Formal outfits.

  • Matching shoes and socks (for full-length poses)

  • Letter jackets, uniforms, class ring, pets and props that reflect who you are and how you like to spend your free time.

  • Make-up and hair supplies (for touch-ups only), and any accessories.

  • Your session fee is required the day of session.

What about glasses?

If you wear glasses regularly, wear them during the photo shoot. However, glasses sometimes cause distortions, reflections, and elimination of detail in the eye area of your portraits. Contact your optometrist to see if they can take the lens out or possibly let you borrow similar frames without lens. We will make every attempt to minimize the glare and reflection from your lenses.

What about my appearance?

In preparation for your session:

  • Check your outfits for wrinkles and place them in a garment bag.

  • Do your nails (clear or neutral colors work best).

  • Gentlemen, please shave as you normally would.

  • Limit your exposure to the sun a few days before your photo session to avoid sunburns or tan lines.

  • Avoid getting a new hairstyle or cut right before your session. Instead, select a comfortable style you know looks good.

  • Make sure to get a good night's sleep.

  • Do your hair and makeup before you arrive.

  • Apply concealer and powder to minimize any blemishes and then stop worrying! Portrait retouching can eliminate small blemishes and under-eye circles on your final order.
