With the recent increase in the number of reported COVID-19 cases and the increase in the number of hospitalizations we have decided to transition the scheduled in person Member Service Center appointments for January to virtual or phone appointments.
LACERA’s highest priority is the health and well-being of our staff members and employees. We have a responsibility to each other, our staff members, and the greater community to help ensure good health, decrease the potential impact of COVID-19, and to help prevent its exposure to vulnerable populations.
Virtual Member Service Center: We are pleased to announce our new Virtual Member Service Center (VMSC)! The VMSC is an alternative to a face to face meeting in our office. Now, you can virtually meet face to face with a retirement specialist through your computer screen using Zoom. A retirement specialist will be able to share retirement documents with you through your computer screen, run retirement estimates, and help show you how to fill in documents. A retirement specialist will call you within 15 minutes before or after your appointment time.

The VMSC is a new feature and may not be right for everyone. If you do not want to set up a virtual session or your computer does not meet the system requirements, you may select the Telephone Counseling Appointment instead.
Member Service Center (In Person): LACERA’s highest priority is the health and well-being of our staff members and employees. At this time, we require that all members and their guest wear a mask, during the in-person counseling session, regardless if you have been fully vaccinated. If you are unable to wear a mask for medical reason(s), please contact us for other available counseling options. Only one guest will be allowed to accompany you during your counseling session. Any other visitors will be required to wait in the Main Building Lobby.
Virtual Call Center: No need to book an appointment to speak to a retirement specialist. You can call (800) 786-6464 anytime Monday-Friday, 07:00AM-5:30PM, except holidays. A retirement specialist will be glad to assist you.
Secure Message Center: You may write to us by using the Secure Message Center through My LACERA portal to ask questions about your retirement. Through My LACERA, you can create retirement estimates, upload documents, update your beneficiary(ies), and much more. To register, select My LACERA toward the bottom of the lacera.com page.
